How much wool do I need?
It's impossible to tell you what exactly is needed as everyone builds out their vans differently. We provide suggestions on our vanlife page, see below. It’s best to measure your space to be insulated to get a square footage calculation while noting
How thick should my insulation be?
Your insulation should be as thick as your build will allow. We recommend filling to full cavity depth. We typically see 2” batts used across the van by layering and peeling the batts to the right thickness. Some spaces more, some less. There is a su
How do I measure for van insulation?
Keep it simple. Measure the area you plan to insulate (height and length) and take note of the average depth. Length x width = square footage. Each box of R7 is 100 sq ft at 2 inches thick. Any overage is a good thing; coming up short is not. Every s
How do I calculate square footage?
Once you have measured for Length and Width simply multiply the two numbers to get square footage. Length X Width = Square Footage.
Do you have videos on how to install your van insulation?
Below is our official van installation video. Our YouTube channel also has a ton of user-generated videos showing installation along with commentary. See HERE.
How do you prevent the insulation from sagging?
Sagging is prevented by installing to full cavity depth. Once a finished wall/ceiling is applied the wool will stand up indefinitely over bumpy roads and condensation loading. Our installation video discusses this in some detail.
